It is the goal of Saint Ignatius Loyola School to create a teaching/learning environment where students and educators pursue their scholastic careers with enthusiasm and a strong sense of purpose. With academic excellence as a focus, each child is encouraged to explore and develop skills that will enable and empower him/her to be an independent thinker, a student who is able to use a variety of approaches in solving problems with the ability to understand the process as well as to articulate a solution.
A student's academic life at Saint Ignatius Loyola School is supplemented and complemented with a variety of specialized experiences in the Fine Arts area with art appreciation, bell choir, chorus, and dramatics contributing to a well rounded program. The classes take advantage of the school's ideal location near Museum Mile and plan field trips that provide enrichment activities that allow New York City to become an extended classroom. An updated computer lab is utilized to support curriculum studies. In addition, each classroom is equiped with state of the art computer technology and Internet access. The physical education and afterschool programs add to the students' active life experiences in an age appropriate manner.
